KOLONIEN

Kolonien is a four piece family band from Sweden, reinventing their roots with vocal harmonies and fierce melodies and rhythms. They all grew up with the traditional folk music embedded in the family and their musical journey together started in already their teens when they left their countryside home to travel around Sweden as protest singers in the Swedish Green movement. After more than 500 concerts in 14 countries and several collaboration with high-profile Swedish as well as international artist they have established themselves as one of the most prominent bands in the new wave of Swedish folk.

Kolonien has released three albums for which they have received several awards. They are now frequently touring the folk music circuits in United States and Canada and are steadily building a following around the world. 2020 they celebrate ten years as a band with the release of their third album and tours in Scandinavia, North America, Italy, Germany and Great Britain.

ANNA & ALE MÖLLER

Anna and Ale Möller. Father and daughter. A lifelong kitchen jam which has resulted in a great common repertoar and an intimate musical meeting that now takes place on stage.

Anna Möller is a multifaceted folk musician, violinist and composer. She constantly appears in new projects and constellations for which she has established herself as a given part of today´s innovative and contemporary folk music scene. And few have come to be associated with the development of Scandinavian contemporary folk and world music as Ale Möller. For nearly four decades he has been an important central figure in exploring new musical paths and expressions. For his many groundbreaking projects he has been awarded the prestigious "Folk Alliance Lifetime Achievement Award"- an award he shares with, among others; Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Harry Belafonte and Joan Baez.

SUPERTRADITIONAL

Supertraditional distributes contemporary folk music in a wider sense. We want to make music that is raw, fragile and honest – music that will make you feel and music that dares to say something. Melodies and narratives that sometimes requires time and the right place.

Världens Band was first brought together in 2012 as an experiment to create a new big band of folk music with people from different cultural backgrounds; thirteen musicians from six countries and three continents. Together they have toured Europe for the past years, released an acclaimed debut album (Transglobal roots fusion, 2015) that gave them the epithet ”A Frankenstein’s monster of world music” (Songlines magazine 2016) and are beating all odds solely by existing.

In this all-star band of the new folk generation one can find members of BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award winners Last Orders, BBC Radio 2 Horizon Award nominees Rura and Swedish Folk Award winners Kolonien and Sallyswag, alongside winner of the All India Radio Competition Carnatic Devotional singer Charu Hariharan and rising star of the Senegalese griot tradition Abdou Cissokho. The band first joined forces in 2012 in Stockholm to share the music and to create new sounds under the guidance of Swedish folk legend Ale Möller.

In 2018 they release their second album Dadjalo. For this album they did all gone into the studio together to fully capture their high-energy-live approach, now with more original compositions as always deeply rooted in their variety of traditions.

Johan Graden - klav

Julia Schabbauer - drums

“Flädermoln beskriver, berättar, ställer frågor men har inga direkta svar. Som lyssnare känner jag mig träffad. Och allt detta görs med briljans. Flädemolns skiva heter Hejdå världen, men den postapokalyptiska titeln till trots så är jag rätt säker på att detta inte är det sista vi hört av orkestern som består av idel unga stjärnor som Anna Möller, Anna Malmström, Adam Grauman, Johan Graden, Julia Schabbauer och på sång Viola Martinsson.” - Lira Musikmagasin, 2020
